Thoughts on Diversity & Inclusion

Everyone agree?

Let’s face it, organizations and teams are often pressed for time. And, when it comes to making decisions, including everyone can be seen as taking too much time. Finding quick and effective ways to hear everyone’s input is important for organizations seeking to be innovative and inclusive.

  • Consider the use of opinion polls: “Let’s hear from everyone on this. If your opinion has been expressed, pass. If it hasn’t — let’s hear it!”
  • Directly ask for differing perspectives: “Who has experience or perspective that will help us think about this differently?”
  • Demonstrate offering unique perspectives from your own lived experience.
  • Avoid using majority rule decision-making. The greater number doesn’t always constitute better guidance or yield better outcomes.

Making decisions? Find quick and effective ways to get to better, more inclusive outcomes. We can help.
